:: HOW I GOT HERE - page 3 ::

Started my typerating in November at Flightsafety, Paris after completing some basic training, which includes ditching first aid, fire drill etc. Completed my typerating in December including my maiden flight and checkride from Maasstrict to Eindhoven. (only a hour flight including circuit training)

          A few days after my checkride the company filed bankruptcy due to numerous problems with the media and our CEO. Lawsuits where filed against our CEO, but he was aquitted from any charges concerning the issue. The negative publicity of the media kept all the paying customers away and so the company went downhill from there on.

          Unfortunatly my dreamjob was taken away from me like pulling away a candy bag from a little kid. I really regret not being able to fly the EMB 145, but hopefully in the near future I get another change.

          I decided to go back to the US and started looking for jobs. Unfortunately there where none to be found, but there was always a nice internship as a F/O on a Metroliner (SA-227) back at Ameriflight. Hoping that after a few hundred hours of heavy turboprop I would be able to get a job at a regional airline. Maybe even the EMB 145 since I hold my type rating, but beggers can't be choosers. I'm an eager to learn person and if it has an engine and a wing, count me in !

          There wasn't a position available at any regional airliner, but a company in Raleigh-Durham, NC finally sent me an invitation to "get to know eachother" a little better. So I bought an airline ticket and flew from Seattle to Raleigh. The introduction was really pleasant and the chief pilot seemed interrested.
